Inspired by the planet Risa, the name I Knew You Were Gonna Be Trouble is a nod to a Star Trek: The Next Generation episode where Beverly Crusher and Will Riker talk Picard into shore leave on the planet Risa. He reluctantly agrees and while on the planet, meets an intriguing woman named Vash who leads him on an adventure and directs this quote towards her.
